Representatives of the university joined the final meeting of the partner universities of the alliance “Aurora”

A delegation from Karazin University, led by the Rector, Professor Tetyana Kaganovska, took part in the final meeting of the partner universities of the Aurora Alliance, which took place at the University of Innsbruck (Austria).

On April 10, 2022, Rector of the Karazin University met for the first time with Rector of the University of Innsbruck Tillman Mark, President of the Aurora Office Sabina Saint, President of the Aurora Alliance, Rector of the University of Iceland, who introduced Tatiana Kaganovska as an honorary delegate.

On April 11, 2022, Tatiana Kaganovska presented Karazin University to the Aurora academic community, in particular, outlined the current state of the university after the Russian invasion.

As a proof of support and solidarity with Karazin University, a check for more than UAH 1.5 million was handed over for the reconstruction and revival of the university.

The plenary session discussed the steps of further assistance, namely: trainings on administrative management of higher education institutions during the crisis and restructuring, methods to help increase the number of applicants — introduction of language courses to improve language skills of students and teachers, implementation of “buddy program” or Twinning among students, conducting regular classes to teach soft skills, awareness of mobility opportunities and writing projects for young people.

In addition, the website of the Aurora Alliance has been updated, with a separate page to help Karazin University.

On this page it is planned to post information about the needs of the university in the field of education, science and equipment:

  • in the field of education: placement of training programs that plan to update with modern methods, such as Joint Prorams, Virtual Mobility, Double diplomas;
  • in the field of science: placement of scientists who want to work in a team of partners with subsequent publication in internationally recognized publications;
  • equipment: a list of needs for laboratories, libraries, museums and other equipment for university departments.

The rector of the university also gave an interview to the Austrian media.
