Karazinite received the "Firearm" award of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine
Oleksiy Dmytrenko, a 2002 graduate of the Department of Reactor Materials at the School of Physics and Technology, a junior researcher at the National Research Center "Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology", captain of the rifle company of the 209th separate territorial defense battalion of the 113th separate territorial defense brigade, was honored with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine’s Firearms Award and a Beretta M9 pistol.
Oleksiy joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the very first day of the full-scale Russian invasion and defended Kharkiv. During the 13 months of the war, he took part in combat operations in various parts of the eastern front, mostly on the frontline. In the first days of the war, he was on the northern outskirts of Kharkiv, then near Staryi Saltov (near the village of Rubizhne), then near Svatove, in the Bakhmut direction (Kurdyumivka — Ozaryanivka) and in the Lyman direction (near Kreminna). And now he is defending the Kharkiv region again.
His squad includes a power grid engineer, a welder, an IT specialist and representatives of other peaceful professions.
Oleksiy Dmytrenko not only defends Ukraine physically, but also strengthens its information security: in interviews with leading global media (CNN, CBS and others), he tells the truth about Russian aggression directly from the battlefield.
We congratulate Oleksiy on his honorable award, thank him for his defense and wish him the forthcoming victory, to return home as soon as possible and to get back to his scientific work again.
Glory to Ukraine and its heroes!
