Excursion to the Simulation Center: Karazin University reveals the secrets of doctors' professional development
On June 22, students and teachers of the School of Medicine conducted a tour of the simulation center, which has a significant number of opportunities for the professional development of medical students and doctors.
The visitors saw the operating room, where students, interns and doctors learn basic surgical skills; the intensive care unit, which features unique simulators that can simulate a number of pathological conditions. The center's staff also demonstrated the intensive care unit for newborns in need of urgent care and the 3D simulation room, where students improve their skills, conduct ultrasound examinations, and learn using a unique anatomical table.
Dean Tetiana Liadova made a welcoming speech: "I hope that in the near future you will become our students. I wish you only professional development, improvement of your professional and practical training, and to be a doctor with a capital letter!"
Also, everyone had the opportunity to practice making bandages to fix different parts of the body: feet, hands, head, and knees.
The next practical stage of the event was intravenous injections on a specialized simulator. All the participants practiced medical manipulations according to the experts' algorithm.
The applicants were delighted with what they saw. Veronika, an 11th grade graduate, said: "It was very interesting! I was both worried and surprised by our practices and the center in general. I want to come here as a student as soon as possible!"
Karazin Medical School is about the unity of education, science and clinical practice.
