Department of Hygiene and Social Medicine

History

The Department was established on December 8, 2008. Since its foundation, modern teaching methodologies have been introduced, test task databases have been developed to ensure effective assessment of students’ knowledge and skills, and all disciplines have been taught using computer and multimedia technologies. A unified system of joint research activities involving both students and academic staff has been developed and implemented.

During the Department’s existence, a Student Scientific Society has been established. Its members have repeatedly and successfully presented their research findings at student scientific and practical conferences.

Research Activities

The Department carries out a fundamental research project entitled “Development and Study of an Automatic Control System for Heart Rate Variability.” The Department of Internal Medicine of the School of Medicine acts as a co-executor of this project.

Department staff are also co-executors of the research project “Development of Psychohygienic Measures for Preserving the Health of Students of Vocational Education Institutions,” implemented within the framework of the intersectoral national program “Health of the Nation.”

Currently, Department staff are conducting two PhD (Candidate of Medical Sciences) dissertation projects, and preparation is underway for a doctoral dissertation (Doctor of Medical Sciences).
