The academic staff of the modern Department of Eastern European History continue the traditions of their predecessors. They teach both general and specialised courses (more than 20), and supervise term papers and graduation theses.
The department fulfils important educational and research functions. Its scientific work is enriched by Ukraine’s proximity to EU countries, overlapping historical themes, shared interests, and the natural drive for cooperation among nations whose histories are closely intertwined.
Over the past five years, the department has seen the successful defence of 16 Candidate of Sciences dissertations and one Doctoral dissertation.
The department also hosts a student research group.
