All-Ukrainian scientific conference "Theoretical and applied aspects of biography: to the 205th anniversary of the birth of M. I. Kostomarov"

On December 7, 2022, the VII All-Ukrainian scientific conference "Theoretical and applied aspects of biography: to the 205th anniversary of the birth of M.I. Kostomarov" will be held online.

Organizers of the event: Department of Ukrainian Studies of the Faculty of Philosophy, Department of Ukrainian Studies named after D. I. Bagaliya of the Center for Regional Studies named after Academician P. T. Tronka of Kharkiv National University named after V. N. Karazin.

The purpose of the event is to study and popularize the heritage of Kharkiv University graduate Mykola Kostomarov, the impact of his scientific work on the development of modern ethnology, philology, and history. The conference will also touch upon the current theoretical issues of modern biographical studies.

Areas of work of the conference:

• the legacy of Mykola Kostomarov in the context of modernity;
• Mykola Kostomarov and the university environment;
• Mykola Kostomarov's contribution to the development of history and ethnology;
• research of the literary work of Mykola Kostomarov;
• the role of the individual in history: cultural mission and political power;
• biography: theoretical and applied studies;
• historiography and biographical source studies.
