Education Shapes the World: A Lecture to Be Held at Karazin University within the 5th Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen

On 10 September 2025, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University will host a meeting with the student community as part of the 5th Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen, an international platform for soft power and dialogue initiated by Olena Zelenska.
This year's theme of the Summit is “Education Shapes the World”, which covers four sub-themes: access to education, teaching, technology and innovation, and education for peace. This year, the Summit introduces several formats: from high-level ministerial discussions to public debates and cultural events. As part of this initiative, world-renowned intellectuals and Nobel laureates are giving lectures at leading Ukrainian universities. Their goal is to take the discussion beyond the formal halls and engage students, who hold the future of science, education, and leadership in their hands, in the dialogue.
A lecture will be held in Kharkiv on the topic: “The development of bioengineering and biotechnology and their implementation: how this will affect the regions and Ukraine as a whole.” The lecturer will be Iryna Lysova, and the moderators will be Anatoliy Babichev, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, and Yuriy Kot, Head of the Karazin BioMed Biomedical Research Laboratory. The audience will have a unique opportunity to hear reflections on how modern biotechnologies can become a driving force for the development of Ukrainian regions.
The lecture aims to combine scientific analysis and reflections on the role of modern technologies in sustainable development, education and the formation of society. Particular emphasis will be placed on the importance of the responsible use of bioengineering and biotechnology to support human well-being, sustainable growth and social progress.
The summit in Kyiv will be a global dialogue on how education shapes the consciousness of generations, restores democracy and lays the foundations for lasting peace.
The event will begin at 3 p.m.
