Dormitories

The student campus of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University has eight dormitories accommodating more than 5,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Accommodation

Information on dormitory accommodation and vacant places can be received from the Associate Dean for Character Building of the School the applicant was enrolled in. It is Associate Dean who provides a certificate stating that the person is a University student and is entitled for dormitory accommodation.

Deans make lists of first-year students who need dormitory accommodation and submit them to the Accommodation Committee. According to the submitted lists, the campus administration prepares orders, accommodation agreements and referrals for accommodation of first-year students.

Non-resident students are accommodated in a dormitory based on their application submitted to the Accommodation Committee of the School. Priority for housing is given to students eligible for benefits in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine. The Committee makes an accommodation waiting list of first-year students who did not get a place in the dormitories.

The dormitory accommodation agreement is concluded for a period of one academic year.

Living conditions

The dormitories have all the necessary conditions for students’ accommodation, study, recreation and sports. Comfortable rooms are designed for three-four people. On each floor, there are shared kitchens, toilets, showers. The dormitories also have rooms equipped with washing machines.

Accommodation fee

Accommodation fee is 520 UAH per month, payment instructions can be obtained from the campus accountant. Dormitory accommodation fee must be paid by the 10th day of each month. The receipt must include the student’s last name, first name, patronymic, number and address of the dormitory. It is also possible to apply for a subsidy after receiving necessary consultations from the Trade Union Organization of Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral Students (room 2-53, 4 Svobody Sq). Students who are eligible can take advantage of benefits (for information on benefits, please contact the Accounts Department).

Dormitory No. 2 is a five-storey building with a corridor-block system. The dormitory has a laundry room, a gym, Internet is available in every room.

The dormitory is mostly occupied by students of the School of Radiophysics, Biomedical Electronics and Computer Systems and the School of Physics.

The dormitory mostly accommodates students of the School of Geology, Geography, Recreation and Tourism, the School of Philosophy, and the Education and Research Institute of Ecology.

The dormitory is mostly occupied by students of the School of Computer Sciences, the Education and Research Institute “School of Physics and Technology”, and the Education and Research Institute of Computer Physics and Energy.

The dormitory mainly accommodates students of the School of International Economic Relations and Travel Business, the School of Economics, the School of Sociology, and the School of Law.
