Advisor to the Rector on State Language Affairs

The primary responsibility of the Advisor on the State Language is to provide consultative and organizational support for the implementation of state policy regarding the use of the Ukrainian language in all spheres of activity at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. The advisor performs these duties voluntarily.

Key responsibilities include supporting the use of the Ukrainian language as the state language in the educational, administrative, and communicative environment of the university; providing recommendations to the university leadership on ensuring citizens’ right to access information and services in the state language; and preparing proposals for the Rector and university administration aimed at eliminating barriers and limitations in the use of the state language.

Within the scope of their authority, the Advisor monitors compliance with legislation on the state language and national programs for the development of the Ukrainian language within the university and submits corresponding proposals based on analysis results. The Advisor also participates in the review of appeals related to language policy and initiates awareness-raising and educational activities for the university community to enhance language competence and legal awareness. In addition, the Advisor supports initiatives by university staff and students aimed at promoting compliance with legislation on the use of the Ukrainian language.
