Meeting with the Vice President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Professor Emmanuil Mutafov

On April 28, 2025, the Head of the Academic Council of the Marin Drinov Center for Bulgarian and Balkan Studies and Head of the Department of Modern and Contemporary History, Mykhailo Stanchev, together with the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Marin Drinov Center for Bulgarian and Balkan Studies and Honorary Doctor of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Volodymyr Salenkov, met with the Vice President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Professor Emmanuil Mutafov.
During the meeting, they discussed the idea of erecting a monument in Kharkiv to the prominent Bulgarian scholar and first head of the Bulgarian Literary Society, Marin Drinov. Volodymyr Salenkov and Mykhailo Stanchev presented the Academy with portraits of two former presidents of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences —Academician Stefan Vodenicharov and Academician Julian Revalski — painted by Ukrainian artist Viktor Kovtun.
The Vice President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences emphasized his appreciation for the cooperation between Ukrainian and Bulgarian scholars, and reminded those present that the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences has a dedicated program for financial support of book publications intended for the diaspora.
