Meeting with Representatives of Hochschule Wismar and Briefing on "Overcoming Borders Through Education in Compliance Management: Germany and Ukraine"

On April 24, 2025, representatives of the International Relations Office of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University and the EUComplianceM4UA Erasmus+ project team visited Kyiv, where they participated in a briefing titled "Overcoming Borders Through Education in Compliance Management: Germany and Ukraine" at the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center and held fruitful negotiations with representatives from the Business School of Hochschule Wismar, University of Applied Sciences, Technology, Business, and Design (Germany).
The event emphasized the importance of German-Ukrainian cooperation, the value of education in compliance management, the role of Erasmus+ in supporting project financing in Ukraine, the critical role of compliance for managers in education and science, and future priorities for institutional and academic development.
The briefing was moderated by Iryna Shteymiller, Head of the International Relations Office at Karazin University.

Following the briefing at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, a public lecture was held by Professor Ali Arnaut on the topic "The Role of Compliance Management in the Current Landscape of Globalization" for students and faculty from the economics faculties of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, and Central Ukrainian National Technical University.
In his lecture, Professor Arnaut focused on compliance management — a modern tool for the business world that helps companies adhere to norms, laws, and ethics, demonstrate their integrity to international partners, and be confident that the truth is on their side in crises.
After the public lecture, representatives of Hochschule Wismar, including Professor Ali Arnaut and Dr. Anna Fomenko, held negotiations with deans from three leading economics faculties in Ukraine: Professor Angela Ihnatyuk — Dean of the School of Economics at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Associate Professor Vitaliy Dyachek — Dean of the School of Economics at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, and Professor Natalia Shalimova—Dean of the School of Economics at Central Ukrainian National Technical University.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to intensify cooperation in establishing dual degree programs in international management, preparing joint educational and research projects, and facilitating international exchanges for students and faculty between Germany and Ukraine.
