The Meeting of the Academic Council

The next meeting of the Academic Council at Karazin University began with personnel matters. During the meeting, the following appointments were approved:

  • Hanna Huseva as the Head of the Department of Foreign Languages for Professional Purposes;
  • Yuliia Lakhmotova as the Head of the Department of Eastern Languages and Intercultural Communication;
  • Iryna Morozova as the Head of the Department of English Philology and Methodology of Foreign Language Teaching;
  • Iryna Kholmohortseva as the Head of the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology;
  • Nataliia Mikhanovska as the Head of the Department of Hygiene and Social Medicine.

Additionally, academic titles of Associate Professors of the Department of Dentistry were awarded to the following faculty members: Nataliia Bobrovska, Stanislav Heranin, and Valeriia Krynychko.

The meeting continued with a report by Hanna Zubenko, the responsible secretary of the admissions committee, on the results of the 2024 admissions campaign. It was noted that this year, the admission of applicants who entered based on full general secondary education was conducted for 75 specialties and 129 educational programs, whereas in 2023, it was for 52 specialties and 93 educational programs. In terms of the number of applications submitted by applicants based on secondary education for obtaining bachelor’s and master’s degrees in medical fields, Karazin ranked 10th among higher education institutions in Ukraine and 1st among higher education institutions in Eastern Ukraine.

Another important topic was the report on the university's operations during the autumn-winter period by Vice-Rector Vasyl Blyndiuk. According to the report, a number of works have been carried out by the university's engineering services in the areas of electrical, plumbing, and construction. Several projects are planned to be completed by the end of 2024.

Other items on the agenda included:

  • Approval of certificate programs and short-term professional development programs;
  • Approval of publications for printing;
  • Formation of ad hoc specialized academic councils, and more.
