Meeting of the Academic Council of the University

On March 30, a regular meeting of the Academic Council of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University was held.

During the meeting, the Council members approved staffing decisions and adopted resolutions on awarding academic titles to university staff.

Yevhen Nikolaiev, Deputy Director of the Education and Research Institute “Academy of Teaching,” delivered a report titled “The Educational Process in Light of the New Requirements of the Law of Ukraine ‘On Academic Integrity.’”

Particular attention was given to the development of the university’s human resources potential and the support of early-career researchers. The Academic Council reviewed the nominations of Mykyta Shevelev and Mykola Dubinin for the appointment of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Scholarship named after Borys Paton for 2027.

The Council members also approved a new version of the Procedure for forming individual educational trajectories for higher education students, the Regulations on ranking academic departments, as well as documents governing the operation of the distance learning web platform and the development of online courses.

In addition, the Academic Council supported the approval of certificate-based educational programmes and professional development programmes.

In accordance with the agenda, a decision was made to establish several ad hoc specialized academic councils for conducting PhD dissertation defenses.

The Academic Council also supported the publication of new issues of academic journals, materials of international conferences, and educational publications online, and approved a number of scientific collections, monographs, and textbooks for publication.
