A Meeting of the Academic Council of the University
On April 29, a meeting of the Academic Council of the university was held at Karazin University.
At the beginning of the event, Rector Tetyana Kaganovska personally awarded those whose contributions to the development of the university are extremely important.
Among them:
- Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor, and Head of the Department of Physical Chemistry of the School of Chemistry, Mykola Mchedlov-Petrossyan, was awarded the distinction "For Service to Karazin University" for his many years of diligent work and significant contribution to the development of the university, as well as on the occasion of his 70th birthday.
- Doctor of Sociological Sciences, Professor, and Professor at the Department of Sociology of the School of Sociology, Liudmyla Sokuryanska, and Doctor of Sociological Sciences, Professor, and Professor at the Department of Applied Sociology and Social Communications of the School of Sociology, Larysa Khizhnyaк, were awarded Karazin University diplomas for their many years of diligent and fruitful work, high professionalism, significant personal contributions to the development of education and science, and on the occasion of important anniversaries.
- Artistic Director of the Student Academic Choir "Ad Libitum," and Specialist of the Cultural and Artistic Development Department of the Center for Extracurricular Activities, Oksana Pidopryhora, received a diploma for her talent, mastery, and contribution to the development of choral art.
- The Academic Student Choir and the Botanical Garden teams were given the Rector's Commendation for their significant contributions to the development of their alma mater.
Associate Professor of the Department of Astronomy and Space Informatics of the School of Physics, Vadym Kaidash, gave a report on the occasion of the 130th anniversary of the birth of the eminent astronomer, graduate, professor, and former rector of the university, Mykola Barabashov (1894–1971). Vadym Hryhorovych reminded everyone of the scientist's legacy's importance to the field of astronomy and the academic community as a whole.
During the meeting, several decisions were made regarding the conferment of academic titles, the approval of educational programs and curricula, and changes to the university's admission rules.
Traditionally, at the end of the meeting, the Academic Council approved several educational, methodological, and scientific publications for printing.
