Karazin University Graduate of the Faculty of History Oleksandr Hrianyk Awarded the Title of Honorary Citizen of Kharkiv — The University Extends Congratulations

On August 23, City Day, during the festive concert dedicated to the 371st anniversary of Kharkiv’s founding, the ceremony of awarding the distinctions “Honorary Citizen of Kharkiv” took place. Among this year’s honorees was Oleksandr Hryhorovych Hrianyk, Director of Kharkiv Lyceum No. 62 and graduate of the School of History of Karazin University.
The title “Honorary Citizen of Kharkiv” is conferred upon individuals who have made a significant contribution to the development of the city, education, science, and culture, as well as those who have demonstrated active civic engagement. Alongside Oleksandr Hrianyk, the honorary distinctions were also awarded to servicemen, law enforcement officers, volunteers, and philanthropists.
The life of Oleksandr Hryhorovych is closely connected with Karazin University. While studying at the School of History, he not only acquired knowledge but also actively pursued journalism — throughout his student years, he worked as a correspondent for the university newspaper “Kharkiv University.”
Today, he leads one of Kharkiv’s leading lyceums and maintains close cooperation with his alma mater, continuing the long-standing tradition of interaction between secondary and higher education.
