On February 25, 2023, Leonid Akinin, a senior teacher at the Department of Physical Education and Sports, became the champion of the Kharkiv region in classical powerlifting in the masters-2 age category (50-60 years old).
In the "deadlift" exercise, he overcame a weight of 212.5 kg, which is 7.5 kg higher than the Ukrainian record.
