All-Ukrainian Philosophical, Historical, and Local History Conference for Student Youth "Know Yourself, Your Kin, Your Nation"

On February 19–20, 2025, the traditional XVIII All-Ukrainian Philosophical, Historical, and Local History Conference for Student Youth "Know Yourself, Your Kin, Your Nation" took place.

The conference was organized by:

  • The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine;
  • The Ukrainian State Center for National-Patriotic Education, Local History, and Tourism of Student Youth;
  • The Department of Science and Education of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration;
  • The Communal Institution "Kharkiv Regional Youth Tourism Station" of the Kharkiv Regional Council;
  • V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University;
  • The National Literary and Memorial Museum of H. S. Skovoroda.

The conference participants were welcomed by:

  • Andrii Lisota, Director of the Ukrainian State Center for National-Patriotic Education, Local History, and Tourism of Student Youth;
  • Anatolii Babichev, Vice-Rector of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University;
  • Ivan Karpenko, Dean of the School of Philosophy at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University;
  • Nataliia Mytsai, Director of the National Literary and Memorial Museum of H. S. Skovoroda;
  • Valentyna Redina, Director of the Communal Institution "Kharkiv Regional Youth Tourism Station" of the Kharkiv Regional Council;
  • Valentyna Sushko, Senior Researcher at the Rylsky Institute of Art Studies, Folklore, and Ethnology;
  • Dmytro Omelchenko, Deputy Director of the Ukrainian State Center for National-Patriotic Education, Local History, and Tourism of Student Youth, and a Board Member of the National Union of Local Historians of Ukraine.

The conference brought together 193 students from 24 regions of Ukraine and Kyiv. Before the event, a collection of abstracts featuring the best student research papers from the XVIII All-Ukrainian Philosophical, Historical, and Local History Conference "Know Yourself, Your Kin, Your Nation" was published.

The participants focused on discussing the following topics:

  • The relevance of Hryhorii Skovoroda's legacy in the modern context;
  • Ethnographic features of different regions;
  • The global consequences of war for Ukraine and the world;
  • The spiritual treasures of my region;
  • The meaning of life in the views of modern youth.
