17 november 2023 year

From November 10 to 15, 2023, representatives of Karazin Kharkiv National University, including the Dean of the School of Foreign Languages Svitlana Virotchenko, Associate Professor of the School of Foreign Languages for Professional Purposes Iryna Avdeienko, and Senior Lecturer of the School of Foreign Languages for Professional Purposes Olga Matviichuk, visited the University of Palermo in Italy. The visit took place within the framework of the EU Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Training and Teaching program.

The Karazin delegation familiarized themselves with the work of the University of Palermo and the specifics of implementing the Erasmus+ program through meetings with Dr. Oleg Rumyantsev, a philosophy doctor and associate professor of Slavic Studies at the University of Palermo, and Simona Mercantini, a representative of the international office. Associate Professor of Humanities Alessandra Riccio delivered an exceptionally interesting lecture on audiovisual translation.

Iryna Avdeienko and Olga Matviichuk, both from the School of Foreign Languages for Professional Purposes, conducted practical English language sessions for students of language schools at the University of Palermo.

The visit allowed them to discuss the plans for implementing new projects, developing partnership relations, and broadly engaging the educational and scientific potential of the universities.

The development of international cooperation, expansion of directions and formats for implementing joint educational and research initiatives are extremely important in the modern world.

The Erasmus+ program has facilitated the collaboration between Karazin Kharkiv National University and the University of Palermo in the field of international academic mobility. Many students and teachers from our university have successfully studied and interned in Italy over the past years.

We sincerely thank our colleagues from the University of Palermo for their warm welcome, openness to new projects, and readiness to develop the partnership!
