Within the framework of the British Council's “LUTUR” Program from December 2 to 5, 2024, a delegation from Karazin University, including Vice Rector for Academic and Pedagogical Affairs Anatolii Babichev, Vice Rector for Academic and Pedagogical Affairs Liliia Hrynevych, and Deputy Directors of the Teaching Academy Olga Vyhovska and Tetiana Holovatenko, visited the University of Warwick (UK) for an experience exchange and to familiarize themselves with advanced approaches in teacher education, educational leadership, and research initiatives in education.

On the first day of the visit, the Karazin representatives learned about teacher training programs within the Secondary Initial Teacher Education (ITE) framework. The participants met with program leaders Professors Gwen van der Velden, Andy Hind, and Fiona Copeland, discussing the features of the educational programs, teacher training methodologies, and gaining insights into the university's strategic development directions.

The delegation also visited Lawrence Sheriff School in Rugby and Stoke Park School in Coventry, which serve as practice bases for future teachers. The participants had the opportunity to assess the system of cooperation between the university and schools within the professional training and teacher development programs.

Special attention was given to discussions on international initiatives in education, particularly the International Initial Qualified Teacher Status (iQTS) programs.

The leader of the international iQTS program, Kirsty Wix, shared her experience working with foreign students and the prospects for the development of teacher training programs on an international level.

The visit concluded with discussions on the next steps for deepening cooperation between the universities. The participants talked about possibilities for creating joint teacher training programs, developing international educational initiatives, and involving research teams in collaborative studies.

This visit marked an important stage in strengthening cooperation between Ukrainian and British universities, opening new horizons for international collaboration in education, science, and pedagogical practice.
