Congratulations to Newly Elected Academicians and Corresponding Members of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine from Karazin University

On May 1, 2025, a session of the General Assembly of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Ukraine was held, during which new full members (academicians) and corresponding members of the Academy were elected. Eight researchers from Kharkiv were included in this prestigious list, among them representatives of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.

In particular, the following individuals were elected as full members (academicians) of the NAS of Ukraine:

  • Mykola Mchedlov-Petrosyan, Head of the Department of Physical Chemistry at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University;

  • Valentyn Chebanov, First Deputy General Director for Research at the State Scientific Institution “Research and Technology Complex ‘Institute for Single Crystals’” of the NAS of Ukraine and Head of the Department of Applied Chemistry at Karazin University;

  • Oleksandr Korchin, Head of Department at the Akhiezer Institute for Theoretical Physics, National Science Center “Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology” of the NAS of Ukraine, and Professor at the Department of Nuclear and High Energy Physics named after O. I. Akhiezer, School of Physics and Technology at Karazin University.

Andrii Sotnikov, Leading Research Fellow at the Akhiezer Institute for Theoretical Physics, National Science Center “Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology” of the NAS of Ukraine, and Professor at the Department of Nuclear and High Energy Physics named after O. I. Akhiezer, was elected as a corresponding member of the NAS of Ukraine.

The Karazin academic community sincerely congratulates our colleagues on this significant scientific recognition. We are proud that our university continues to be part of the nation’s scientific elite and contributes to building the intellectual foundation of an independent Ukraine.
