Roundtable Discussion Held on "Access to the Teaching Profession: How to Obtain a Professional Qualification?"

On April 1, 2025, the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center hosted a roundtable discussion titled "Access to the Teaching Profession: How to Obtain a Professional Qualification?" The event was organized by the Teachers Training Academy of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. Bringing together educators and experts in the field, the discussion served as a platform for addressing key issues related to the process of obtaining a professional teaching qualification in Ukraine and abroad.
The roundtable was moderated by Liliia Hrynevych, Vice-Rector of Karazin University. Among the participants were:

Veronika Kryzhanovska, Junior Researcher at the Teachers Training Academy at Karazin University.
Participants discussed the process of awarding a professional teaching qualification to graduates of pedagogical specialties, as well as to individuals with non-pedagogical backgrounds who wish to obtain teaching credentials as an additional qualification. They also explored the possibility of acquiring a teaching qualification outside the higher education system, with validation through qualification centers.
A key focus was placed on the structure of the qualification exam, emphasizing the need to incorporate best practices from both Ukrainian and international experiences.
The event attracted over 100 participants on the Zoom platform, reflecting a high level of interest in the topic. Attendees actively engaged in the discussion, raising numerous questions about the procedures and requirements for obtaining a teaching qualification, particularly regarding specific certification programs.
