Road Safety Week Continues in Ukraine

From May 12 to 18, 2025, the first stage of the annual Road Safety Week is taking place in Ukraine under the slogan: "Safety on the Roads Under Martial Law Conditions."
During this period, special attention is drawn to the importance of following traffic rules amid increased risks caused by military actions, limited street lighting, and possible absence of traffic lights or road signs.
Karazin University reminds everyone of the general traffic rules that are always relevant — especially during martial law:
-
Cross the road only at designated areas, even if no vehicles are nearby.
-
Wear reflective elements at night.
-
Obey traffic signals and road rules, even if some infrastructure — traffic lights, signs, or road markings — is damaged or missing.
-
Avoid using headphones or smartphones while crossing the street.
-
Always stay alert to possible air raid signals and move to shelter when necessary.
We also highlight that the 8th All-Ukrainian Photo and Video Contest is currently underway as part of the national project "Safe Country." Its goal is to promote a culture of safe behavior on the roads through creative formats. More details are available via the provided link.
Let’s remember: even one right action can save a life.
