Successful Completion of the Project “Ukraine digital: Ensuring academic success in times of crisis” (2022–2025)
V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University has successfully completed the international project “Ukraine digital: Ensuring academic success in times of crisis”, supported by the DAAD and implemented over four years.
The project began in October 2022 at the School of International Economic Relations and Travel Business (now the Education and Research Institute “Karazin Institute of International Relations and Travel Business”). Over the course of implementation, the project expanded to include the Education and Research Institute “Karazin Banking Institute,” the School of History, the Education and Research Institute “Computer Sciences and Artificial Intelligence,” and the School of Economics, enriching its scope and content.
The primary goal was to provide comprehensive support to both academic staff and students.
More than 200 students received scholarships to study a wide range of English-taught business disciplines (and over 200 more participated without scholarships). Over 30 lecturers took part in academic mobility programmes in Germany (Meschede and Arnsberg), where they completed internships and training, and more than 40 lecturers developed a series of engaging interactive courses and taught within the programme at Karazin University.
In 2024, project participants attended the World Congress in Berlin to present the project results.
Such a project became possible thanks to years of cooperation and support from Professors Ewald Mittelstaedt and Claudia Wipke, as well as partner universities — the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences and the Karlsruhe University of Education.
The project coordinator on behalf of Karazin University was Olena Mykolenko.
