Meeting of the Academic Council Held at Karazin University

On September 29, 2025, a meeting of the Academic Council of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University took place.

In accordance with the agenda, the members of the Academic Council approved staffing matters and decisions on conferring academic titles of Associate Professor on university employees. The Council also supported the nomination of several young scholars for the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine scholarships.

Considerable attention was devoted to the development of the educational environment. In particular, the establishment of the Center for Dual Education and Professional Development at the School of Economics was approved, new editions of regulations for a number of university structural units and faculties were adopted, the Code of Academic Integrity was endorsed, and updated regulations on the Academic Office as well as on units supporting digital and inclusive learning were approved.

Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Anatolii Babichev reported on the implementation of the university’s policy to support the mental health of students and staff, which is an important component of the modern educational strategy.

The Academic Council also approved amendments to the Admission Rules for 2025, the distribution of licensed enrollment capacities for academic programs for the 2025/2026 academic year, and decisions regarding the redistribution of vacant state-funded places. Among other issues considered were: recognition of foreign educational documents, the creation of a one-time specialized dissertation defense council, the approval of professional development programs, and educational certificate programs.

During the meeting, the Council also approved the number of delegates to the University Staff Conference, changes in the editorial boards of periodicals, as well as matters related to the development of international education and academic mobility.
