The First Series of Events Within the "Deutsches Puzzle 2025" Project Took Place at Karazin University

On February 21, a series of expert meetings with leading specialists in international relations was held in a hybrid format as part of the "Deutsches Puzzle 2025" project. The initiative is organized by the Student Council of the Karazin Institute of International Relations and Travel Business.

The "Deutsches Puzzle 2025" project focuses on discussions surrounding the upcoming early Bundestag elections, which could significantly impact European politics, security, and German-Ukrainian relations.

On February 21, three expert meetings took place:

  • Andreas Umland, a German political scientist specializing in post-Soviet studies and authoritarianism, discussed recent shifts in Germany's domestic and foreign policy, the influence of "Trumpism" on Europe, and the current political landscape.
  • Roman Goncharenko, a Deutsche Welle journalist and expert on foreign policy and security in former Soviet states, shared insights into information trends and public sentiment in Germany.
  • Oleksii Makeiev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Federal Republic of Germany, explored prospects for German-Ukrainian relations after the elections.

The meetings were attended by Member of the Ukrainian Parliament Maria Mezentseva, Vice-Rector Anatolii Babichev, Director of the Karazin Institute of International Relations and Tourism Business Mykola Pysarevskyi, Head of the Department of International Relations Nataliia Vynnikova, Associate Professor of International Relations and Logistics Ivan Marchenko, and others. In total, around 70 people participated in the events.

Additionally, on February 26, the project will include a simulation of government formation in the Bundestag.
