Diplomacy Week at Karazin University
Diplomacy Week at Karazin University Concludes, Honoring Diplomatic Service Day in Ukraine and the University's 220th Anniversary
Diplomacy Week, organized by the Educationand Research Institute "Karazin Institute of International Relations and Travel Business," became a series of engaging master classes, discussions, events, and meetings for Karazin students. Participants honed their skills in representing their country on the international stage, engaging in intense debates, and mastering the art of finding solutions where others see dead ends.
Attendees had the opportunity to learn the secrets of diplomacy firsthand by engaging with Ukraine's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Botswana (Southern Africa), Oleksiy Syvak. During the meeting, the ambassador shared insights into the key tasks of his work, the unique features of local diplomacy, and how the country's foreign policy is implemented. Students received answers to their questions and valuable advice to guide them on their path toward a diplomatic career.
Another significant event was the meeting between students, faculty, and Ukraine's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Myroslava Shcherbatiuk. During the meeting, the ambassador highlighted the role of women in professional diplomatic activities in the Middle Eastern countries, particularly in Jordan. She also shared insights into the culture, traditions, and customs essential to diplomatic work in the region. The discussion covered topics such as bilateral relations between Ukraine and Jordan, particularly in the context of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Myroslava Shcherbatiuk emphasized the crucial role of Ukraine's higher education institutions, especially Karazin University, in fostering social connections and enhancing relations between the two countries. The meeting also explored prospects for establishing cooperation to organize educational events for International Relations students and expanding academic opportunities for faculty members.
Diplomacy Week also featured exciting interactive activities:
- A master class on "Organizing a Diplomatic Reception."
- A panel discussion on "Geopolitical Challenges of December 2024."
