Summer Specialized Courses for Teachers and Educators Have Started at Karazin University

Starting June 9, 2025, Karazin University launched a series of summer specialized courses on various topics for teachers and educators from different educational institutions. These courses include:

  • Culture of Good Neighborliness

  • The Role and Place of SEL (Social and Emotional Learning) Activities in Ukrainian Language and Literature Lessons

  • Teaching Ukrainian in the 8th Grade According to the New Ukrainian School Program

  • Implementing a Competency-Based Approach in 8th Grade English Classes Based on the New Ukrainian School Model Curriculum

  • Modern Approaches to Teaching German in the Context of the New Ukrainian School

  • Language and Literature Field: Ukrainian Language and Literature

  • Natural Sciences

  • Civic and Historical Education

  • Art (Integrated Course)

  • Fundamentals of Sectoral Economics and Entrepreneurship, and others.

Educators from various general secondary and vocational institutions providing different levels of general education are participating in these diversified programs. Participants represent institutions from the Industrialnyi, Nemyshlianskyi, Novobavarskyi, Slobidskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi districts of Kharkiv, the Nedryhailiv Settlement Council of Romny District in Sumy Region, and the relocated community of Sievierodonetsk in Luhansk Region.

The educational process is conducted by highly qualified academic staff from the Schools of Biology, History, Philology, Philosophy, Mathematics and Informatics, as well as from the Education and Research Institutes of the Karazin Banking Institute, Computer Sciences and Artificial Intelligence. Also involved are practicing educators from the municipal institution Kharkiv Gymnasium No. 77. The courses creatively combine lectures with training sessions, workshops, New Ukrainian School-style brainstorming, Kahoot quizzes, and more.

During a meeting between course participants and Mykhailo Tatarynov, Acting Director of the Institute for Continuing and Distance Education, a moment of silence was held to honor the memory of those who lost their lives. The meeting also covered the features of the educational programs, provided safety instructions under martial law, and addressed key questions from educators.

The courses will continue until the end of June 2025.
