Training for Heads of Social Services Launched at Karazin University
On 17 November 2025, Karazin University began a professional development programme for directors, deputy directors, heads of social assistance departments, social service centres, centres for social support, crisis centres for women, resilience centres in urban and rural communities, as well as heads of geriatric homes and psychoneurological institutions. The aim of the programme is to develop and expand professional competencies in supervision within the field of social work and to strengthen the psychological well-being of the target groups they serve.
This systematic and well-organised initiative is made possible thanks to long-standing cooperation with the Kharkiv Regional Centre of Social Services.
At the opening session, participants were welcomed by Mykhailo Tatarynov, Director of the Institute for Continuing Education. He provided targeted guidance on the specifics of the educational process and the topics to be studied, introduced the features of the Moodle distance-learning platform — available 24/7 throughout the training — answered questions, and conducted the necessary instructions.
The training process in these professional development courses will be delivered by the departments of the Karazin School of Social Work of the Educational and Research Institute of Sociology and Media Communications, represented by Iryna Yevdokymova, Svitlana Sadrytska, and Olena Butylina.
The course participants honoured the memory of those who have fallen since 24 February 2022.
The educational programme will continue according to the schedule and will conclude with a final assessment and evaluation.
