Ideathon Held at Karazin University
On 27–28 February 2025, the Karazin Science Park, together with the School of Economics, organized an Ideathon — a two-day event for students aimed at developing skills in generating startup ideas, building teams, and presenting projects. The event was held in a hybrid format: offline in a safe space at Karazin University and online.
The first day, 27 February, was preparatory. Participants attended four practical workshops led by experts with experience in the startup sphere. The workshops focused on identifying and formulating a problem as the basis of an idea, building a value proposition and solution logic, communication and team formation, as well as pitching techniques.
The second day, 28 February, was dedicated to teamwork on project development, presentations to the jury, and the announcement and awarding of the winners.
According to the results of the evaluation by the competition committee, three winning teams were selected.
First place was awarded to the VocabX team, which presented the idea of an application for learning English with personalized spaced repetition intervals and a gamified motivation system. The project is being developed jointly by students of Karazin University and NTU “KhPI.”
Second place was taken by the Synergy-X team consisting of Danylo Lopatin (School of Economics) and Olena Strapchuk (Karazin Institute of International Relations and Travel Business). The team presented a B2B service for implementing compliance systems and risk management in small and medium-sized businesses aimed at attracting grant funding.
Third place was awarded to the ProVstup team — Sofiia Klochan (1st year), Liubov Subota (2nd year), and Yelyzaveta Kuzenkova (3rd year), students of the School of Economics. Their project is a mobile application for prospective students that allows users to explore universities in Ukraine, choose a faculty, and learn about admission requirements and tuition fees.
The projects were evaluated by the following jury members:
-
Anton Panteleimonov, Vice-Rector for Research and Teaching (Chair of the Commission);
