A solemn ceremony marking the Winter Graduation of Master’s Degree Graduates 2025 was held at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. The event brought together graduates, faculty members, university leadership, relatives, and friends in a warm yet restrained atmosphere — on the eve of the Christmas holidays and amid the realities of wartime.
The ceremony began with a minute of silence to honor the memory of all those who lost their lives in the Russian-Ukrainian war — students, graduates, and faculty members of the university. Owing to their sacrifice, Karazin University continues its work in Ukrainian Kharkiv for the benefit of the country.
Addressing the newly graduated master’s students, the Rector of Karazin University, Tetyana Kaganovska, congratulated them on completing an important stage of their lives and wished them professional fulfillment, inner strength, and confidence in their abilities. Speeches were also delivered by Denys Kovalenko, Director of the Education and Research Institute “Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy,” as well as representatives of the Student Trade Union and the University Student Council.

One of the key moments of the ceremony was the presentation of awards to master’s graduates who demonstrated outstanding achievements in academic studies, research, and public activities. The names of the best graduates from faculties and educational and scientific institutes were announced from the stage, accompanied by music performed by the university orchestra, Karazin Orchestra.
On behalf of the graduates, words of gratitude to the university community were delivered by Oleksandr Peliukh, a master’s graduate of the Education and Research Institute of Public Administration. The final official highlight of the ceremony was the performance of the world-famous student anthem Gaudeamus.
The festive atmosphere was further enriched by vibrant musical performances by Karazin Orchestra, a traditional Christmas Nativity scene presented by the Kharkiv branch of Plast, and a final musical composition symbolizing energy, strength, and faith in the future.
Karazin University congratulates its graduates on earning the Master’s degree and wishes them confidence, inspiration, and success in achieving their professional and life goals. Carry the name of Karazin with dignity, and until we meet again within the walls of your alma mater!
