Karazin University has commenced a professional development program for 25 directors of social services and institutions from 3 village councils, 12 settlement councils, and 6 city councils of the Berestynskyi, Bohodukhivskyi, Kupianskyi, Lozivskyi, Kharkivskyi, and Chuhuivskyi districts, as well as the city of Kharkiv and the Kharkiv Regional Center of Social Services. The program is titled "Enhancing Professional Competencies in Mental Health: Supervision as a Tool."

At the introductory session, the Acting Director of the Institute of Continuing Education and Distance Learning, Mykhailo Tatarynov, welcomed the participants. He introduced the key components of the training program, familiarized them with the class schedule, conducted a safety and health briefing under the conditions of wartime, and answered questions about using the distance learning course via the Moodle system. The participants also observed a moment of silence in memory of those who lost their lives.

During the feedback session, participants voiced their most significant professional and practical requests. These included issues related to the role of the director in coordinating early intervention services, ensuring the safety of specialists during field visits to frontline areas, working with war veterans and demobilized individuals, and applying methods to improve the quality of social services.

Throughout the training, the participants will receive practical answers to these and other challenges, along with hands-on solutions for their implementation.

The educational process is being conducted by highly qualified academic staff and practitioners from the Department of Management Sociology and Social Work of the School of Sociology, under the leadership of Associate Professor Iryna Yevdokimova.

The non-formal training will continue until June 27, 2025.
