Science Day at Karazin University

Karazin University hosted a Science Day event, which was attended by schoolchildren, their parents and Kharkiv residents to explore the world of science together.

The event was joined by the Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov and Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.

"I am extremely pleased to be here, among you, because it proves that science is alive and well in Kharkiv city and Kharkiv region, and that higher education institutions are working. You have gone through a rather difficult year, and we are all working together with you and waiting for the time when we can launch offline training in Kharkiv so that all these wonderful experiments can be conducted in classrooms and directly communicate with our scientists," said Oleg Sinegubov.

"I remember how we have always celebrated this holiday as the Night of Science. I have participated in these events many times and remember that unforgettable atmosphere. It is exactly the same atmosphere that prevails here today. I would like to congratulate everyone on the holiday. Indeed, Kharkiv is an intellectual city, a city of science, an ideal city of the future!" Igor Terekhov shared his impressions.

The Rector of the University Tetyana Kaganovska also congratulated all those present and wished the students to find their teachers in science.

All faculties and research institutes of the university presented their interactive programs for the visitors. Both kids, schoolchildren and adults were interested in seeing physical devices, chemical and physical experiments, optical illusions, learning about the advanced scientific developments of Karazin University, taking part in management matches, quizzes, and psychological tests. 

In addition, they could visit the Museum of Nature, the Museum of Archeology, the Research Institute of Astronomy, and the Landau Center.

The event also included awarding Karazin students.

In particular, Anna Chheailo, Director of the Karazin Banking Institute, was awarded a diploma of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration for her significant personal contribution to the development of education and science, training of highly qualified specialists, fruitful scientific and pedagogical activity and on the occasion of the Day of Science, Ihor Sereda, Associate Professor of the Department of Applied Physics and Plasma Physics of the Educational and Research Institute "School of Physics and Technology", and Oleksandr Kozlov, Associate Professor of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Immunology of the School of Medicine.

The Head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration awarded the Head of the Department of Physics and Technology of the Institute of Physics and Technology of the School of Medicine Oleksandr Kozlov with the letter of gratitude for his diligent work, significant labor achievements, exemplary performance of official duties, high professionalism and on the occasion of the Science Day the Head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration awarded Maryna Hryhorieva, Head of the International Ratings Department of the University's Public Relations Center for her diligent work, significant achievements, exemplary and high professionalism.

Maryna Hryhorieva, Head of the International Ratings Department of the University's Public Relations Center, was honored on Science Day.

Also, Mykyta Shevelev, a junior researcher at the Space Research Department of the School of Radiophysics, Biomedical Electronics and Computer Systems, was awarded the gratitude of the Head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration for his significant personal contribution to the development of education and science, training of highly qualified specialists, fruitful scientific and pedagogical activity and on the occasion of the Science Day.

In addition, for many years of conscientious and fruitful work, high professionalism, significant contribution to the development of education and science in Kharkiv and on the occasion of the professional holiday of Science Day, the Dean of the School of Biology Yurii Gamula, leading researcher of the Museum of Nature, Associate Professor of the Department of Mycology and Phytoimmunology of the School of Biology Oleksandr Zinenko were awarded with the gratitude of the Kharkiv Mayor, Mstyslav Kaliberda, Associate Professor of the Department of Physics and High Frequencies of the School of Radiophysics, Electronics and Computer Systems, Olena Parkhomenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Management and Administration of the Karazin School of Business, and Denys Chudak, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Applied Chemistry of the School of Chemistry.

This event has once again shown that Kharkiv cannot be broken and, despite all the challenges, the scientific life of the city is alive, active, and has something to surprise. And Karazin University plays a leading role in this.
