As part of the implementation of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, students of the Karazin Institute of International Relations and Travel Business successfully completed an internship at the central office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

Among them was Leontii Sukhostavets, a third-year student of the Department of International Relations, who interned at the Department of State Protocol. During the internship, he took part in the preparation and organization of the Meeting of Heads of Foreign Diplomatic Missions of Ukraine, which was held in Kyiv under the slogan "From the Power of Diplomacy to the Diplomacy of Power."
This large-scale event served not only as a platform for meaningful discussions but also for decision-making, the formation of new policies, and further reform of Ukraine's diplomatic service.

“The internship was a real immersion into the daily work of a diplomat. I had the opportunity to participate in the preparation of the Meeting of Heads of FDUs — an event that brought together leading Ukrainian diplomats from around the world. This experience showed me how even the smallest detail, combined with the impeccable work of the Protocol, contributes to shaping Ukraine’s international image. I am sincerely grateful to the department team for their support and for allowing me to be a part of this important effort,” shared Leontii.

In addition, third-year student of the Department of International Relations, Sofiia Bolkvadze, completed her internship at the Department of International Law.

There, she worked on the analysis of international legal documents, preparation of materials related to international treaties, management of official correspondence, and study of the practices of international judicial bodies.

“It was a unique opportunity to engage in real diplomatic work. Every day I acquired new knowledge and practical skills, deepening my understanding of international law. The department's atmosphere was extremely supportive — the staff were open and willing to share their experience. This stage has been another step on my journey toward becoming a diplomat and international affairs specialist,” said Sofiia.

We are proud of our students and thank the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine for its openness to cooperation and support for young people.

Such internships are a valuable practical step toward the professional future of a new generation of Ukrainian diplomats!
