Medical Students Took Part in the Event “Management of Response to Incidents with a Large (Mass) Number of Casualties”

On December 11, 2025, students of the School of Medicine, based at the Kharkiv Regional Clinical Hospital, became part of an important educational initiative held under the auspices of the World Health Organization, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, public organizations, and UK MED.

The event “Management of Response to Incidents with a Large (Mass) Number of Casualties” brought together young medical professionals for an in-depth immersion in highly relevant emergency medicine and crisis management skills.

Such events make it possible to practice modern approaches to organizing responses to mass casualty incidents, where the number of victims significantly exceeds the usual capacity of emergency medical systems. They help qualified personnel act effectively and cohesively in critical situations and under the most challenging circumstances.

During the event, students became familiar with international standards of planning, team role distribution, casualty triage, and inter-agency coordination.
