Karazin Students Completed Internship at the Medical Physics Department of the Spizhenko Medical Center (Kyiv)

From May 12 to 16,the students of the Department of Medical Physics and Biomedical Nanotechnologies of the Education and Research Institute "School of Physics and Technology," under the supervision of the Head of the Department, Prof. Valeriya Trusova, completed an internship at the Medical Physics Department of the Spizhenko Medical Center, Kyiv.

During the internship, the students became acquainted with the practical aspects of work at a modern oncology center, including the principles of radiation therapy planning, the operation of linear accelerators, and the use of quality control and dosimetry systems. Particular attention was paid to safety protocols, treatment plan verification algorithms, and multidisciplinary teamwork in radiation oncology.

This internship represents a significant component ofthe professional training of future specialists in Medical Physics, allowing students to reinforce their theoretical knowledge through hands-on experience and to gain deeper insight into the critical role of medical physicists in the process of radiation treatment of cancer.
