Student Sofia Pustova — participant of the Intensive School ‘Laser, Plasma and Thermonuclear Synthesis-2024’
From 2 to 5 September 2024, Sofia Pustova, a 1st year master’s student at the Educational and Research Institute of the School of Physics and Technology, took part in the Intensive School ‘Laser, Plasma and Fusion-2024’, which was held in Rethymno, Greece.
The school is famous for providing exceptional scientific training for young researchers interested in pursuing a career in the field of high-power laser plasma, with a particular focus on inertial fusion.
The programme includes plenary lectures and specialised reports presented by renowned scientists in the field, as well as workshops, case studies, modelling and laboratory experience.
As part of her participation in the school, Sofia presented a presentation on ‘Direct laser acceleration in homing mode’. Her work is dedicated to the problem of studying the conditions for accelerating plasma particles using a laser.
We congratulate Sofia and wish her further success!
