Throughout August 2026, an exhibition co-organised by Oleksandra Ivaniuk, a student at the School of History, was held in Halle, Germany.

The exhibition “Forgotten”, dedicated to the topic of forced labour, was organised as part of the “Dialogue of Traces” project, run by Kijuga e. V. it aimed to deepen public understanding of the history of forced labour and highlight lesser-known aspects of the experiences of people who were forced to work during the Second World War.

The exhibition brought together works created using paper cutting, printmaking and collage techniques. Through artistic imagery, the artists tell the stories of forced labourers, exploring their everyday lives, emotions and experiences.

The works were created by Oleksandra Ivaniuk and Kristina Tatarinova. The exhibition offered a way to preserve the memory of people whose stories had long remained relatively unknown and to draw attention to an important part of our shared European history.
