
Sofiia Baletska of the School of Physics Wins International Optica Women Scholar 2025 Recognition
We are proud to announce that Sofiia Baletska, a 4th-year student of the School of Physics at Karazin University, has been named a recipient of the prestigious international Optica Women Scholar 2025 award, presented by the leading global optics and photonics society, Optica.
This award is granted to women who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievements and active research involvement in the fields of optics, photonics, and related disciplines. Sofiia Baletska received this recognition for her success in studying advanced photonic technologies and their applications in renewable energy.
As part of her research activities, Sofiia has participated in international scientific projects, focusing in particular on the synthesis and analysis of novel materials that can be used for efficient solar energy collection and conversion.
The Optica Women Scholar award not only highlights Sofiia’s high level of academic preparation but also affirms the global competitiveness of Ukrainian researchers.
