Resilience in times of war: Karazin University participating in the project Working towards resilient societies in the EaP: challenges and opportunities for the policy beyond 2020
On March 18, at the initiative of the Department of Political Science of the Faculty of Philosophy, Karazin University held an interdisciplinary expert meeting within the framework of the project Working towards resilient societies in the EaP: Challenges and opportunities for the policy beyond 2020.
The participants of the event were Counsellor to the Rector, Academician Vil Bakirov, Vice-Rector Anatolii Babichev, Dean of the School of Medicine Tetiana Liadova, Director of the Education and Research Institute of Ecology Hanna Titenko, Head of the Department of Economics and Management of the School of Economics Hanna Doroshenko, Acting Head of the Department of Sociological Research Methods of the School of Sociology Iryna Kuzina.
Among other participants there were Oksana Zabuzova, Executive Director of the Kyiv School of Diplomatic Arts, Head of the Etiquette, Protocol and Intercultural Communication Program, and Mykola Nazarov, Head of the Center for Regional Security Studies at Sumy State University.
The meeting was moderated by Oleksandr Fisun, Head of the Department of Political Science at the School of Philosophy, and Natalia Vinnykova, Professor of the Department of Political Science at the School of Philosophy.
The participants of the expert meeting assessed the challenges faced by various sectors of Ukraine in the context of the war and the efforts taken by Ukrainian society to cope with this shocking event. According to the experts, the key tools to ensure resilience are digitalization and organizational scaling of public and private sector institutions.
The project is being implemented with the assistance of the European Union and the participation of the following higher education institutions: ADA University (Azerbaijan), I. Javakhishvili Tbilisi National University (Georgia), and the University of Warwick (UK). This project aims to develop recommendations for the European Commission to implement the concept of resilience in the Eastern Partnership countries.
