Representatives of the School of Foreign Languages of Karazin University visited the University of Palermo (Italy). The visit took place as part of the EU Erasmus+ program "Staff Mobility for Training and Teaching." The participants included:

  • Tetiana Cherkashyna, Professor of the Department of Romance and Germanic Languages;
  • Olha Matviichuk, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Foreign Languages for Professional Purposes, and Deputy Dean for International Cooperation of the School of Foreign Languages.

During the internship, Olha Matviichuk had meetings with representatives of the General Directorate of the International Relations Office at the University of Palermo — Dr. Antonino Serafini, Chiara Aggiovazilit, and Simona Mercantini, as well as with the Director of International Projects at the Department of Humanities, Professor Oleh Rumyantsev.

They attended Spanish language and literature classes conducted by Professor Assunta Polizzi, where they learnt about innovative methods for teaching and translating foreign languages.

Iryna Avdieienko held practical English language classes for non-language students at the University of Palermo. Tetiana Cherkashyna conducted practical classes on French language and French-Italian translation for Master’s students at the University of Palermo. The visit allowed discussions on future plans for new projects, developing partnerships, and fostering greater involvement of both universities’ educational and scientific potential in collaboration.

The Erasmus+ program has deepened the cooperation between Karazin University and the University of Palermo in the field of international academic mobility.

Many students and lecturers from our university have successfully completed training and internships in Italy in recent years. We sincerely thank our colleagues from the University of Palermo for their warm welcome, openness to new projects, and willingness to strengthen our partnership!
