Vice-Rector Liliia Hrynevych Participated in a Meeting with Representatives of Higher Education Innstitutions in Finland

On October 28, 2024, Liliia Hrynevych, the Vice-Rector of Karazin University, presented "The Resilience of Higher Education in Times of War: The Ukrainian Approach" to security specialists from higher education institutions in Finland. The event was organized by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture.

Liliia Hrynyevych shared her experiences with Finnish colleagues regarding the continuity of education amid the wartime challenges in Ukraine. The topic of vocational education was addressed by Iryna Shumik, the General Director of the Directorate for Vocational Education at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

The meeting covered the current state of higher and vocational education, key factors that ensured its continuity, and the challenges faced by Ukrainian higher education institutions. Additionally, significant attention was given to the workforce needs, particularly regarding new specialties that are critically important during wartime and for post-war recovery.

The Ukrainian experience is highly valuable for international partners, as our education system demonstrates extraordinary resilience in these difficult times. Karazin University plays an important role in this process, actively working to develop scientific potential, adapt educational programs, support students and faculty, and implement innovative approaches to the professional development of future specialists despite the challenges of war.
