Karazin University Representative, Historian Maryna Hryhoriieva, Participated in the Freedom Camp

From July 26 to August 2, 2025, the Freedom Camp was held in Lviv Region, organized by the Crimean Tatar Resource Center with the support of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Ukraine.
The event brought together 20 activists from across Ukraine, including Maryna Hryhoriieva, a historian and representative of Karazin University.
“The Freedom Camp became a unique space for a multidimensional dialogue about Crimea.
We had the opportunity to attend lectures by international law experts and leading human rights defenders, exchange ideas and experiences, and take part in various creative activities.
I am sincerely grateful to the organizers and participants for their initiative, professionalism, resilience, commitment to principles, sincerity, and openness — and for the unforgettable atmosphere of mutual understanding that can only emerge among like-minded people!” — noted Ms. Maryna.
The focus of the Freedom Camp included the history of Crimean Tatar resistance and the systematic human rights violations on the peninsula, the role of nonviolent resistance, international advocacy campaigns, and visual storytelling.
The program featured lectures, role-playing games, lively discussions, and film screenings.
Special attention was given to the creation of new visual materials for the international #LIBERATECRIMEA movement.
