The Department of Practical Psychology and Innovative Wellness Technologies of the Education and Research Institute “Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy” at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University signed a memorandum of cooperation on psychological support and collaboration in the field of mental health with the 5th Slobozhanska Brigade “Skif” of the National Guard of Ukraine.

“The memorandum of cooperation we have concluded with the Slobozhanska Guards aims to enhance our students’ practical knowledge in crisis and extreme psychology. Together with military psychologists, we will learn how to properly work with servicemen and veterans regarding their rehabilitation and the provision of psychological assistance. Currently, we are already working with injured personnel in medical institutions. For the Department of Practical Psychology, it is very important that our students gain practical knowledge alongside theoretical training,” commented Natalia Kucherenko, Head of the Department of Practical Psychology and Innovative Wellness Technologies at the Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy.

Such initiatives are extremely important for our existence under wartime conditions. Increasingly, government bodies and educational institutions are cooperating on various types of support. Joint work and knowledge exchange can accelerate recovery and improve care for our defenders.

“Our cooperation agreement will be beneficial for both sides. Planned activities include professional development for staff and servicemen working in mental health, participation in open lectures, as well as career guidance initiatives from the brigade and informing students and graduates of the Psychology Department about opportunities for promising military service under contract, specifically in military psychology positions,” emphasized Stanislav Kuznetsov, Head of the Psychological Support Division of the brigade, Lieutenant Colonel.
