Karazin University Representatives — Participants of The 1st NURECAB Workshop "UA and EU Nuclear Education Trends and Nuclear Industry Prospects"
On October 10, 2024, in Kyiv, The 1st NURECAB Workshop "UA and EU Nuclear Education Trends and Nuclear Industry Prospects" was held. The event focused on current issues in the development of nuclear education in Ukraine and the demands of the Ukrainian nuclear sector on educational institutions.
The main goal of the meeting was to discuss modern trends in nuclear education, analyze the needs of Ukraine's and the EU's nuclear industries, and seek ways to improve educational programs for training highly qualified specialists in nuclear energy and medicine.
Participants included representatives from the European Nuclear Education Network (ENEN), the Ukrainian Nuclear Society, Spizhenko Clinic, the European Commission's Joint Support Office in Kyiv, which manages the Nuclear Safety Cooperation Instrument, the EU Joint Research Centre (JRC), the Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA), the POLATOM Radioisotope Centre, CVR, SE NNEGC "Energoatom," as well as leading Ukrainian universities and research centers. In total, 92 representatives from Ukraine and Europe’s nuclear sectors attended the workshop.
Karazin University was represented by Professor Igor Hirka with a presentation on "Overview of Nuclear Education in Ukraine (Fusion)" and Professor Serhii Lytovchenko with a presentation on "Materials Science and Engineering in Ukraine."
