From June 27 to July 6, 2025, representatives of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University’s School of Radiophysics, Biomedical Electronics, and Computer Systems: Professor Volodymyr BEREST and Senior Researcher Mykyta SHEVELEV, successfully completed a research-focused training program hosted by the University of Twente in Enschede, the Netherlands. The visit was part of the academic mobility initiative for teaching and research staff, made possible through an inter-institutional agreement and supported by the Erasmus+ programme.
The intensive agenda included site visits and collaborative engagements with leading academic and industrial partners. Notably, the participants visited the globally recognized technology company THALES and attended the defense of a bachelor’s thesis by fourth-year student Alina POPOVA from School of Radiophysics, Biomedical Electronics, and Computer Systems. The visit also included attendance at final project presentations by students from partner institutions: University of Cape Town, University of the Western Cape, Cape Peninsula University of Technology, and Stellenbosch University. The presented projects focused on key areas including object detection and classification, energy efficiency strategies, and advanced signal processing techniques.
In addition to the academic exchange, the visit resulted in strategic agreements to facilitate graduate student placements at the University of Twente for research projects, as well as the development of joint scientific programs.
Upon successful completion of the training, participants were awarded formal certificates, affirming their contribution to international academic collaboration.
We congratulate the faculty members on this significant achievement and the expansion of Karazin University’s international cooperation, and we wish them continued success in future endeavors.
