Employment of Graduates and the Development of Natural Sciences — A Focus for Authorities, Business, and Education

The discussion took place during an off-site meeting of the “Dialogue Between Government and Business” platform. The event brought together representatives of the authorities, businesses, university faculty, and students.
The participants focused on the future of the natural sciences, which are currently experiencing a sharp decline in interest among prospective students. This raises a serious concern that in a few years, the country may face a shortage of specialists whose work is vital for laboratories, manufacturing, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and environmental protection.
“The issue of training qualified professionals in higher educational institutions of the Kharkiv region is under the personal supervision of the Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov. The unity of business and students is a key step toward the sustainable development of the powerful enterprises in the Kharkiv region,” emphasized Yevhen Ivanov, Deputy Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
Karazin University actively cooperates with government authorities, businesses, and leading enterprises in the region, organizing student internships at potential future workplaces.
The university continuously engages with international charitable organizations to equip a modern scientific and practical base. Currently, one of the main goals is to promote biology and chemistry specialties among schoolchildren.
The dialogue that took place at Karazin University demonstrated the readiness of government, business, and education to work together to support young people.
“We appeal to businesses: invest in your own future — support students through scholarships, named grants, and participation in educational programs,” urged Karazin University Rector Tetyana Kaganovska.
