The Vice-Rector for Research and Academic Affairs of Karazin University, Anton Panteleimonov, took part in the Joint Polish–Ukrainian Meeting of Vice-Rectors for Research (October 20–21, Warsaw) — the first large-scale meeting of vice-rectors for research from both countries.

Over the course of two days, intensive discussions and practical collaboration took place on topics such as the development of science, support for young researchers, post-war recovery of universities, and the creation of a sustainable research ecosystem.

The key topics of discussion included:

  • Comparison of the scientific and innovation systems of Poland and Ukraine;

  • Funding, evaluation, and strategic management of research;

  • Support for young scientists and the development of academic careers;

  • Technology transfer, international partnership, and the role of science in rebuilding Ukraine.

The meeting became a platform for trust, concrete decisions, and joint ideas. Ahead lies the creation of a Polish–Ukrainian Alliance of Vice-Rectors for Research, the launch of joint research projects, dual PhD programs, mentorship initiatives, and measures to support researchers’ well-being.

Sincere gratitude to our Polish colleagues for their openness and partnership. Together, we are shaping the architecture of the future of European science!
