It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of an outstanding physicist, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, and Professor of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Viacheslav Fedorovych Klepikov.

His life and career were inseparably linked with Karazin University, where he developed as a scholar after graduating in 1971 from the renowned School of Physics and Technology. For decades, Viacheslav Fedorovych remained one of the most devoted representatives and supporters of the Educational and Research Institute “School of Physics and Technology,” embodying in his work the finest traditions of the Kharkiv school of physics.

As a university professor, he passed on his knowledge and scientific passion to many generations of students, becoming for them not only a lecturer but also a wise mentor. While heading the Institute of Electrophysics and Radiation Technologies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, he consistently fostered close cooperation between the академic institution and the university, opening the path to great science for young physicists. In 2007, he founded the Department of Electrophysics and Radiation Technologies at the university and led it until 2013.

His fundamental works in the physics of ordered systems, the theory of phase transitions, and critical phenomena brought him worldwide recognition. Yet within the walls of his native School of Physics and Technology, he will always be remembered as a person of great soul, an intellectual, and a true patriot of his Alma Mater.

The bright memory of Viacheslav Fedorovych Klepikov — a great scientist, teacher, and pride of Karazin University — will forever remain in the hearts of his colleagues, students, and the entire academic community.
