It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Vladimir Oleksandrovych Gutorov, Ph.D. in Philology, Associate Professor, who chaired the Institute of General and Applied Linguistics at the School of Philology.

Vladimir Oleksandrovych was a uniquely gifted individual. All friends, colleagues, students, and associates will remember his kindness, high professionalism, and distinctive sense of humor.

In 1993, Vladimir Gutorov graduated from the university, where he studied applied linguistics. He found his calling, and in 2003, he returned to his Alma Mater.

This is an irreparable loss for the Institute, the School, the University, and all who knew and loved Vladimir Oleksandrovych. His memory will forever remain in our hearts.
