With deep sorrow, we inform that on October 21, 2025, at the age of 85, after a long illness, Volodymyr Yehorovych Semenenko, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and Associate Professor of the Department of Physics of Non-Traditional Energy Technologies and Ecology at the School of Computer Physics and Energy, passed away.
Volodymyr Yehorovych was a graduate of Karazin University, having completed his studies at the School of Physics and Technology in 1963. Throughout his life, he remained a devoted member and mentor of his alma mater, dedicating himself to scientific and teaching work — first at the Faculty of Physics and Technology and later at the School of Physics and Energy.
His scientific work covered research in solid-state physics, materials science, and structural and diffusion processes in metals and composites. Volodymyr Yehorovych taught courses on modern materials, technologies, and resources in the field of non-traditional energy.
Colleagues and students will remember him as a demanding yet kind mentor, who knew how to support, advise, and inspire, always remaining devoted to his profession and attentive to people.
The bright memory of Volodymyr Yehorovych will forever remain in the hearts of his colleagues, students, and everyone who had the honor of working with him.
